The inspiration for our “how to make a shabby chic container with tissue paper”, came to us after seeing this DIY Favor Box Ideas from Tulle Box Designs over on Wedding Chicks.
Using a few supplies, (4″ white blumebox cube, cut up 2″ squares of white tissue paper, double stick tape and the end of a pencil) this tissue clad blumebox flower vase began to takes its poofy shape in no time at all.
1) Line each side of the blumebox with strips double stick tape, leaving about a 1/4″ between each strip.
2) Take a piece of tissue paper and wrap round eraser side of pencil. This will help you stick the tissue to the blumebox. Continue along the path of the double stick tape to you reach the end. Repeat till each panel is covered with tissue. To mix it up a bit use various colored tissue to get an ombre effect!
3) Fill with flowers, candy or cake pops!
There is something so romantic about Vintage Chic that inspired us to design a blumebox to suit this elegant theme.
Our inspiration came from a great find of some slate burlap and lace ribbon at a local craft store. From there, the arrangement and look began to take shape. Thanks to our friends and neighbors at the Floral Design Institute, they left town with a cooler full of GORGEOUS flowers that were needing to be used up. Lucky us!
We started with an 8″ white blumebox, layered the outside panel with one strip of burlap and topped it with the lace ribbon, generating one charming centerpiece or bridal bouquet box.
One of my very favorite summertime flowers are Hydrangeas and we were thrilled to see these images come though from new customer Poppy Floral, showcasing some of their bridal bouquet beauties in blumeboxes! With a few simple additions of ribbon pinched at the center and held together with personalized decals, the blumeboxes were customized to suit the wedding. Fall in love with Cambridge,MA based Poppy Floral by visiting their portfolio.
Hydrangea related, but a separate event. . . Atlas, I can feature the centerpieces from my 20th high school reunion that occurred last summer. Some things take time! Or I simply forgot. Regardless, I discovered this image on my phone and it prompted me to post it. To match school colors of white and royal blue, I started with our 6″ white blumeboxes and wrapped each one with royal blue oasis wire and filled with hydrangeas and some filler. Super simple but added a fun texture and tone to the bouquets.
Did I mention how much I adore Hydrangeas…I could not help myself by scouring the web world for some pretty fabulously unique hydrangea bridal bouquets for all you brides-to-be out there looking to incorporated hydrangeas in your wedding day!
We love us a wedding that has a whole lot of do-it-yourself projects to it. We especially LOVE it when blumebox is part of those personalized touches for a wedding day!
So when Jessica Flores of DomesticatedMe.com sent us images of her fabulous DIY wedding day that featured eco-friendly blumeboxes, we were smitten with delight!! Like so many brides-to-be, Jessica had big ideas with a not-so big budget! But did that stop her? Not a chance. Instead, she took on a lot of the work herself and she got the results she dreamed of without breaking the bank.
With a silver, navy and white color palette, Jessica started by decorating the white 5.5″ cube blumeboxes (which she used for table centerpieces) with sheer navy blue and silver ribbon and eventually added their monogram to the box. The 8″ blumebox (designed to fit her stunning DIY brooch bouquet) was decorated with sheer navy blue ribbon and accessorized with adhesive pearls, for a truly classic look!

And for those of you who can’t stop looking at that beauty of a brooch bouquet, you will not want to miss her How To Make a Brooch Bouquet You Tube video.
We loved what Jessica came up with for her own wedding, that we partnered with her to host a blumebox give away! For more details on the giveaway, view this You Tube Video before August 17th @ 11:59PM EST.

White is simply elegant and with a zest of lime green…it’s refreshingly stunning!
Our eyes were drawn to this poolside bridal shower, created by Ellen Bessett Events, because of the stunning paper back drop that Ellen made in three days and via a Pinterest tutorial. After further inspection of this elegantly simple affair, we spotted some 4″ blumebox cubes with cake pop inserts displaying yummy cake pops from The Baking Bar.
For more zest of lime, be sure to visit Ellen’s blog that features this white and lime green wedding shower.
