Get clever this week and start making up some smore’s kits for all those patriotic parties you are headed to. Or if you are hosting a 4th of July party, look to put together these easy red, white and blue smore’s kits as gifts for the guests.

Our inspiration for this very easy, do-it-yourself project started earlier this week when we spotted some very cute printables over on the Anders Ruff site. If you have not ordered printables from them before, the creative folks at Anders Ruff makes it slick! We had our red, white and blue printables in minutes. Be sure to check out all the additional items they carry to make your patriotic bash a firecracking event!

make your own valentine's day succulent box

Let’s not over think things upcoming holiday people. Valentine’s Day is not just for lovers….its for friends, teachers, co-workers. It’s a day to say “You Rock!” . . . “Thank you for being you”. . . “Just because”.  So, with this simple formula we bring you a simple,  oh so cute and fun gift idea with washi  tape (a fave of ours), a blumebox and a 4″ potted succulent.

Select your favorite color blumebox and patterned washi tape. Open blumebox till the bottom locks into place and the blumebox is sturdy. Begin by tearing various lengths of washi tape and place on blumebox. Adjust direction of washi tape to take shape of a heart.

Pop the blumebox liner (that comes with the blumebox) in the base of box followed by the succulent and you voila!

Make one or make duplicates, this is a cute, clever and easy DIY valentine for some lucky peeps!

Design-your-own-patterned-blumebox

Recently, I purchased paint pens in both gold and silver and lets just say that these things rock! They seem to work on most surfaces, including a blumeboxa cardboard floral container. It takes a few practice rounds to get used to the flow of ink, but once you master that, there is no stopping you!

The paint pen fun commenced this holiday season.  I have found us hitting numerous holiday parties and that often means showering the host with a wee gift of thanks. Whether it be flowers, plants, libations, sweets or an ornament, there is a blumebox for any sized token of appreciation. Onto the fun part. . . Decorating the blumebox cardboard container!

I recommend having the blumebox flat for ease of drawing. Pick up that paint pen and start drawing, writing, scribbling till you have yourself a personalize gift box! It seriously is that simple and the drying time is nothing. We are talking five minutes people! Just have fun!

We would love to see what you come up with, so share some of your personalized hostess gifts ideas over on our Pinterest board.

Christmas-2013--Cookie-stand-with-washi-tape

Hosting a holiday party or heading to a cookie exchange . . . We have a cute holiday project that can be made quickly with a blumebox and washi tape.

Any size blumebox will suit. Pictured here is an 8″ cream blumebox. Proceed with wrapping the blumebox with washi tape in the desired pattern. Keep it simple (as shown to the right) or take it up a notch and have some fun with washi and make a tree out of it! We saw this idea over on Confetti Sunshine who had a post on handmade ornaments, and we thought it could work really well on a blumebox.

Show us what you come up with this holiday season by sharing ideas on our Facebook page and Pinterest boards.

Christmas-Glitter-Deer-Head

When I spotted this fun tutorial on how to make your own glitter reindeer art over on Bliss At Home, I knew I had to try it on a blumebox.

This looks harder than it was. With just a few supplies (a blumebox, glitter, glue and a stencil) and minimal steps, you will have a sparkling doe in no time!

MAKE ONE

One: Make a deer stencil. Use it to trace onto the blumebox.

Two: With a paint brush, apply tacky glue to the entire inside of deer.

Three: Shake glitter like mad over the glue area. VOILA!
