Christmas Decorations in October…Seriously Ikea? Is it really that absurd to assume that we could actually enjoy one holiday at a time? Apparently so. So…If you can’t beat ‘em join em’!

For all those brides to be, with save the dates to be wed this Winter, here is some holiday inspiration from Stem’s Floral Design Studio. The vibrant red carnations paired up with white blumeboxes and black & white damask ribbon rang out Winter Weddings to us! Of course, this popular red, white and black color combination could be just as fabulous year round!

Another fabulous compliment to such a vibrant bouquet as these, would be our brand new black with white edge collection, arriving the end of October!

We have an unhealthy obsession with Pinterest and have been known to scour the site for endless party and decor ideas that could applied to blumeboxes. Of course along the way we have built boards for our dream house, but that is another post. Upon one of our searches, we came across Chalkboard Table Centerpieces that got us thinking that blumeboxes are the perfect medium to apply chalkboard paint! What an easy DIY and cost effective way to personalize centerpieces.

Just about any craft, paint or hardware store sells chalkboard paint, we happened to get our hands on a quart of Benjamin Moore and it worked great! Determine the size and shape you are desiring, create a stencil and stencil the shape directly on the box. Note: Pen works best to outline the shape!  And don’t fret about seeing the pen lines, as the paint will cover any guides. Then carefully and steadily apply the chalk paint to the outline shape. Two coats will due. Let dry and apply chalk!

Featured here is our 5.5″ white cube that we applied chalk paint to our trellis shape outline, and then proceeded to chalk out table numbers. A variety of succulents filled the blumeboxes, which added depth to the table design. What fabulous way to turn centerpieces into table numbers that would make for terrific gifts for guests at the end of the event.

The ideas are endless with this super easy DIY project especially when you discover that there is colored chalk paint! What an adorable idea for treat boxes at a birthday party, or personalized centerpieces for a baby or bridal shower!

When we spotted these fabulous Halloween Treat Buckets via Pinterest, we could not help ourselves by re-creating them with blumeboxes!

These projects lend themselves perfectly for little’s too, who love to craft! So whether you fancy pumpkins, mummies, ghosts, spiders, bats or Frankenstein, blumeboxes are a great base to start creating spook-tacular centerpieces and candy boxes!

At first glance, we thought this Frankenstein popcorn box might have been constructed from a blumebox, but we read that it was made from construction paper. The 4″ lime slice cube makes for a very rigid base, easy to adhere foam paper, googly eyes, buttons and candy too! No template required for this one, just draw, cut, paste and your monster will start to take shape in no time!

The wide winged bat, inspired by another pinterest post, was constructed from a 6″ black blumebox, foam paper for the wings, googly eyes and a white paint pen. We particularly loved the accent of striped wings, featured on our inspiration board, and think that an assortment of bats with various patterned black and white wings would make for a horrifically fabulous Halloween table!

So what are you waiting for…start cutting, gluing and creating and get your “BOO”on!

With Back To School season arriving sooner than most would like to admit, perhaps throwing a party could help the little ones ease back into the swing of things.

Hatter & Hare Events threw this adorable Back To School Lunch Party for a few kiddos the day before school started and we had to share. Be sure to check out their blog for many more details to this clever party.

We particularly love how she transformed an 8″ blumebox by covering it with a collage of crayon boxes. Another fun idea would be to paint a blumebox with chalk board paint and write directly on it.

Rely on toys to serve as props or serving pieces like seen here with the plastic school bus. And these rice crispy treat crayons are just too darn cute…almost too cute to eat!

You know Summer is nearing when you see sweet corn at the Farmer’s Market and in the grocery store aisles. And when we spotted this fabulous idea over at Hostess with the Mostess, we had to fire up the grill and recreate this corn on the cob kabob (repeat that phrase rapidly) display using our new 5.5″ white blumebox cube!

Grill the corn to your liking, adding any additional seasoning required.  Cut ear of corn in half and insert a kabob stick through each cob. While we filled the cube with 9 small ears of corn, we recommend using 6-8 ears of corn per 5.5″ blumebox cube in order to space out the cobs and to see the corn chip filler. And we have to agree with HWM, that we too managed to tax a fare few corn chips when we were creating this corn on the cob display box.

With 4th of July approaching, we added some of our patriotic paper ribbon to the 5.5″ white blumebox cube.

With 4th of July just around the corner, we wanted to provide you all with some super easy and cost effective, DIY ideas that ensures your picnic and dessert tables to be as patriotic as they come!

We set out to prove that blumeboxes are not just for flowers, in fact, whatever the size or color, blumeboxes can hold/display just about anything! Starting with the cookie stand; we took a 4″ cube blumebox (color does not matter seeing as it will be covered) and wrapped it with two sheets of our patriotic blue stars on white paper ribbon. Using the 4″ blumebox as a base, we topped the cube off with a plate full of shortbread cookies. See close up image below!

Fruit kabob centerpieces are an easy, healthy and fun way to dress up the table and we figured that we could make quite an eye popping display for these! To add height variation to the table, we stacked two 4″ blumebox cubes and wrapped them in our white stars on blue paper ribbon. See above for a “how to” description. An easy way to arrange the kebabs is to use floral foam or styrofoam that can be bought at any craft store. But seeing as these materials are terrible on the environment, we simply cut a piece of cardboard and folded it in three’s to provide a shelf inside the cube. Poke desired amount of holes in top of cardboard shelf with skewer and then insert fruit filled kabobs. To cover up the join of the two cubes, we wrapped fabric ribbon around the middle.

For larger fruit kabob arrangements, the 5.5″ blumebox cube would be the ideal size!

For cost effective and EASY decoration idea this centerpiece requires three small helium filled, star shaped balloons arranged in an 8″ red, white, blue or even silver blumebox. To hold the balloons in place, we filled the blumebox with patriotic garland we picked up at the craft store. Sheets of tissue or shredded paper would also work as filler. Use our patriotic themed paper ribbon to line the sides of the blumebox, adding just a bit more fire cracking flare!

Flowers are a great addition to any table. And blumebox makes it easier than ever to add accents of colors where necessary! We incorporated two 6″ red blumeboxes (decorated with our white stars on blue paper ribbon) filled with white gerberas.

So what are you waiting for…begin shopping for your Patriotic Party!
