Say it with a heart!  For this shoot we used the 4″ pretty n pink blumebox with the NEW cake pop insert, heart lollies, tiny cinnamon heart candies to fill the bottom, and a heart chalk decal.  The bottom photo is a 6″ red burst blumebox with white mums and mini red carnations along with our heart chalk decal.

How about a cookie pop for your valentine sweetheart?

These cookie pops are made from two sugar cookies sandwiched together with frosting, on a lollipop stick. The outside cookie was frosted on one side decorated with skittles or whatever other decor you would like to use.

Hostess Tori used a 4″ white cube blumebox and our brand new cake pop insert to display her fun sweet treats. Simple, easy, and cute!

This idea is a easy to tailor for any event or holiday.

Did someone say gumdrops?  I’m there.  Seriously who doesn’t love gumdrops?  Such a fantastically bright and cheery Holiday party from Paper and Pigtails and also featured on Hostess with the Mostess.   We love all of the colorful creative details that were included in this party.  The gumdrop trees, the gumdrop cake, gumdrop necklaces, gumdrop shaped cookies, and of course the gumdrop bouquets in the 6″ white bright blumeboxes.

All of these great details would also work well for a Candyland themed party!

Yesterday, I got to spend a few hours amongst some awesome gals showering the most wonderful mama-to-be.

I especially loved spotting the blumebox arrangements throughout the house, that one of the hostesses arranged of which included a gorgeous collection of white flowers and extremely cool (as in awesome) greens!

Boy or girl no one knows just yet! So an assortment of 6″pretty n pink and 6″baby blue blumeboxes throughout the party, made for a very festive baby shower celebration!

While researching train themed parties, we came upon an adorable one via the blog Mommy Amour, that just so happened to feature the 8″ white blumeboxes on the dessert table of her 2 year old boy, Grayson’s lime green and blue train birthday party!

It is fare to say that not one detail was left out of this incredibly orchestrated party! We know from experience that the cost of  parties add up and it is important to be smart in the planning process and choose wisely where you want to spend the money. We love this clever, low-cost centerpiece option, Colleen came up with, featuring the 8″ white blumebox, lime slice striped paper ribbon filled with light blue tissue paper pom poms.

We of course could not resist including a picture of Grayson, the birthday boy, helping himself to a cupcake or two! A boy after my own heart!

We have an unhealthy obsession with Pinterest and have been known to scour the site for endless party and decor ideas that could applied to blumeboxes. Of course along the way we have built boards for our dream house, but that is another post. Upon one of our searches, we came across Chalkboard Table Centerpieces that got us thinking that blumeboxes are the perfect medium to apply chalkboard paint! What an easy DIY and cost effective way to personalize centerpieces.

Just about any craft, paint or hardware store sells chalkboard paint, we happened to get our hands on a quart of Benjamin Moore and it worked great! Determine the size and shape you are desiring, create a stencil and stencil the shape directly on the box. Note: Pen works best to outline the shape!  And don’t fret about seeing the pen lines, as the paint will cover any guides. Then carefully and steadily apply the chalk paint to the outline shape. Two coats will due. Let dry and apply chalk!

Featured here is our 5.5″ white cube that we applied chalk paint to our trellis shape outline, and then proceeded to chalk out table numbers. A variety of succulents filled the blumeboxes, which added depth to the table design. What fabulous way to turn centerpieces into table numbers that would make for terrific gifts for guests at the end of the event.

The ideas are endless with this super easy DIY project especially when you discover that there is colored chalk paint! What an adorable idea for treat boxes at a birthday party, or personalized centerpieces for a baby or bridal shower!

Our daughter celebrated her 2nd birthday in June and when we began brainstorming themes, she was all about monkey’s and butterflies and the colors green and blue.

In fact…Everything is blue or green, seeing as she isn’t quite able to identify true colors yet. And butterflies and monkey’s are the BOMB! But I was at a loss with ways to incorporate the two themes, so we narrowed it down to Monkey’s in all shades blue and green (and accents of chocolate brown).

Birthdays are a big deal in our family and the longer you can extend them the better! So we planned a beach weekend to the Oregon Coast to ring in the big TWO! So where possible/suitable, I tied in “beachy” elements.

Above are 4″ white cube blumeboxes that were covered in full sheets of the mocha stripe paper ribbon and filled with salt water taffy which is a signature candy at the coast! Normally the ribbon is meant to be used as individual strips, but it worked well as one whole piece to cover the entire cube. We had to use two sheets to cover each 4″ blumebox cube. Each taffy centerpiece was topped off with a paper monkey on a stick, which was made by taking extra invitations and gluing them back to back with one another and inserting a paper lollipop stick in the center.

The monkey plates, hats and decor all came from a fabulous party supply store in Portland called The Lippman Co., but could also be found via the internet.

Another huge favorite amongst the birthday girl at the moment are cupcakes, so it was no question that all the monkey’s present at this party would be noshing on these tasty treats baked by Saint Cupcake.

The cupcakes were displayed on a blumebox cupcake stand and decorated with accents of mocha striped printed ribbon. Tying in the theme, each cupcake had a monkey head topper inserted inside. I am not to thrilled about the sparseness of the stand, so in the future, to fill in this empty space, we recommend colorful cut tissue or even wrapped candy.

The end result of this lime green and turquoise monkey birthday party is one happy two year old birthday girl!

The inspiration behind this sweet decoration idea came from a cake pop date with my daughter over the weekend.

For those of you unfamiliar with Starbucks new tasty addition, a cake pop is cake on a stick. Believe me, it is much more heavenly in person than words can describe.  And to see the happiness that such a baked good provides my daughter, makes my day!  I planned to take Perrin to Starbucks to dine on one of these “yummy”(as described from my 2 year old) treats, but I came up with this fabulous idea and moved our date to take place at home.

What would happen if rainbow sprinkles met a blumebox?

I took a 4″ white cube blumebox, sprayed one side of the blumebox with spray-on adhesive and rolled it in a pan of rainbow sprinkles. I proceeded to cover the remaining three sides of the blumebox with glue and sprinkles. Next, I filled in any spots that were light or void of sprinkles and then proceeded to give an all over spray of adhesive to keep the sprinkles in place. Insert a styrofoam ball or square piece of floral foam into the blumebox and fill out with cut gerberas so that foam is hidden. And lastly insert the cake pop/s in the foam and you have one super cute and colorful cake pop stand!

Perrin can hardly wait for next weekend!

We removed the cake pop to showcase the fabulous rainbow sprinkled blumebox as a floral centerpiece. Multiply this idea, and create ten of these centerpieces filled with assorted colored gerberas or balloons and line a table for a kids birthday party or baby shower!

For all you parents out there who have kids obsessed with purple bouncing dinosaurs, a Spanish speaking explorer and red furry monsters, who want their birthdays to reflect EVERYTHING Barney, Dora or Elmo . . . We give you this creatively modern solution to making it more “hip”.

The inspiration came from the soon-to-be 2 year old birthday girl who was obsessed with Barney and bouncing, but her mom couldn’t bear the thought of a “Barney” themed party (understandable), so she incorporated the loveable dinosaurs’ favorite colors of purple and green as a backdrop and held the shindig at a local bouncy house.

To get the party started she looked to Callie at Calliespondence to design the invites as well as stickers and goodie bags, all tying in the purple,green and white color palette.

Check out this fabulous low-cost (under $8) way to dress up the tables with balloon bouquets in blumeboxes. They used 6″ white blumeboxes, adorned with green decorative ribbon and adhered the custom printed stickers on top. Add balloons to a stick, place in blumeboxes and fill with colored tissue.
