DIY – Washi Tape and Blumebox

Washi Tape….Where have you been all my life? Seriously. This stuff rocks. We have had a collection of washi tape accumulating in our supply area for a very long time and I finally took to designing something with it. Well…I can’t stop playing with this stuff. It’s super easy to work with, can be layered and adheres to a blumebox with such ease!

I started with a 4″ aqua marine cube and went to town layering pattern upon patterned blue and green washi tape. There really is no “right” way, which is the best part about it. Just keep layering! Once all four sides of the blumebox were covered, I inserted a cake pop insert (or in this case a macaron insert) and then proceeded with filling it with beautiful and mouth watering macarons from the very tasty Nuvrei Patisserie. Lollipop sticks were easily inserted to each macaron.

Because the cake pop insert is kraft, we like to fill the top with candy or decorative items. In this case we simply poured some sugar on top. Make sure you tape over any holes that are not being used!We are happy to announce that our new cake pop inserts that are white. No more need to fill out the top!

After enjoying those delicious macarons, we loved the container so much, we transformed it into a fruit bowl for our kitchen.
